Nyse-Euronext
Nyse-Euronext
Financial historians will classify the 4th of April 2007 as a turning point in the development of stock markets. Because, before this date, the German and the Tokyo stock exchanges made acquisition attempts on the London stock market. Despite the fact that the waves of press releases concerning the talks between nyse-euronext has been regular in the press for the past six months. This week, the event that marked the end of this development is a press release indicating that the merger between the two operators have reached its final stage and the listing/trading of nyse-euronext shares will take place on the 4th of April. Thus, making Nyse-Euronext, a transatlantique stock market with a market capitalization of 19 billion dollars. And whatever, might be the case, nyse-euronext cannot remove the aura and the long history that make the London stock exchange, an international financial marketplace.

The first fifty years of the European Union
The first fifty years of the EU
There are many events lined up for the commemoration of the work of the European Union. Because the EU is now a major element in the day-to-day affairs of member countries. Let us look at two examples:
-a reasonable proportion of the legislation of EU member countries is now based on EU regulations
-the national currency in most member countries is the Euro and the free flow of goods and services is a basic reality within the EU.
However, the international organization has to come up with bold and audacious foreign and defense polices in the next decade. If the EU wants to retain its status as a body comparable to the United Nations and the Commonwealth Secretariat in this our troubled world.

The founder of Microsoft
The founder of Microsoft and L'Entreprise(The French business Magazine)
I have not been able to viste the web site of Bill and Melinda Gates but as an avid newspaper reader. I know that their foundation has been financing many not-for-profit groups around the world. But I was astonished to find out that during the last edition of the French Business Start-up Exhibition, the founder of Microsoft was asked, If it's the duty of businessess to contribute to the development of humanity.
The question is a surprise because the spirit of corporate social responsibility is not a fad and is high on the agenda of many companies. And the founder of Microsoft insisted in his reply, that the progress of the last century improved considerably the conditions of humanity and companies just have to pool their resources together on corporate social responsibility issues as their efforts compliment one another.
